Clarify: embodied anatomy of the nervous system

A GROW/L Embodied Anatomy Session

The nervous system often gets spoken about in terms of regulation and optimization.

But the nervous system is a messenger. It sparks, communicating through flashes of fire and salt. It is embodied lightening.

In this Embodied Anatomy Session, you will learn the anatomy and physiology of the nervous system through embodied poetry that brings life and magic to the body, while radically increasing your understanding of your own physiology.

Helpful for advanced practitioners, and accessible to complete beginners, in this session you will learn:

  • The components of the nervous system

  • The foundations of the nervous system physiology

  • Why “calm” is not always an appropriate state

  • And how learning to embody the actual, literal space in the nervous system can be more helpful than endless techniques that seek to regulate.

If you’ve joined me for other Embodied Anatomy Sessions, then you know that the level and quality of information and embodiment shared is astounding. This is what you wished you college anatomy class could have been like.

You might also notice that this session is twice the normal length. This is because one of the most helpful skills in embodying the nervous system is time, and there simply isn’t enough time in one single hour.

If you aren’t able to attend the full live session, the recording will be shared and you can watch it in sections.

Pre-registration for these Embodied Anatomy Sessions is at a significant discount - once the video joins the Embodied Anatomy Library, the price will increase.

Join the live session on Thursday, November 19th, noon-2pm EST (find your local time here)

All Embodied Anatomy Sessions are included in Anchor Community membership.

  • If you are a yoga or movement teacher, somatic body worker, or therapist, this session is highly recommended.

  • If you are simply curious, and wishing to know more of the beauty of your body, please join us. It will be so wonderful to offer you a deeper level of understanding of the magic of your own body.

  • If you are a medical professional, perhaps you could benefit from reinvigorating the awe that drew you to medicine in the first place. When doctors and nurses join these sessions, that is the email response that floods my inbox, and I am always thrilled to help people return to a state of awe about the body.

Here’s what participants in past Embodied Anatomy Sessions had to say:

That was incredibly healing and profound.

Deep gratitude, for the embodied poetry and the depth of the journey.

I gently cried my way through this class today. Thank you for today, it has allowed me to shed tears that I have not been able to release all week. Your words always land in my body at a depth I did not know was possible.

Abigail, thank you so much for this experience - this is my first time with you in person. True magic, and full gratitude. Thank you thank you.
