Unsilenced Bodies: Online Writing Retreat with Catherine Simone Gray & Abigail Rose Clarke

$45.00

The body is home and oracle. The body is inherently subversive. The body is a revolution.

When we write from the body, our writing becomes electric. Whether or not we choose to share our writing with others, writing to unsilence the body means our words become bolts of lightening, illuminating truths that might otherwise remain hidden.

Join authors Abigail Rose Clarke and Catherine Simone Gray for a unique online writing retreat, October 25-26, 2025

The retreat is offered in two parts: one session on Saturday, another on Sunday. We will write together in the Saturday sessions, with writing exercises offered by these two expert and prolific writers to help unleash any ideas about what “good” writing needs to be. You will then be guided on a writing journey that will knit you into body and place, and on Sunday we will come together once more to explore what has been created.

The sessions are recorded so you can go back to them as often as you like. In offering this retreat online, we hope to make it as accessible as possible to parents and caregivers - the zoom mute button means if there is necessary chaos around you, you don’t need to worry about disturbing others. Show up messy, but we hope you show up.

In this online retreat, you will:

  • be led through somatic and writing practices to orient to your body as a messenger and ally

  • practice noticing and sitting with sensation as you try out new language for what you’re experiencing – and see what becomes possible when you do

  • be invited to write about one part of your body and one plant around you to discover what’s there, what messages they hold, and what they might communicate to each other

  • receive guidance for how to move through your weekend expanding what we begin in the live sessions, coming deeper into relationship with body and place

  • find space to share writing, discoveries, and further curiosities in our closing session

This online retreat is for you if:

You want to listen to the wisdom of your body.

You know nature has messages for you about how to survive, how to seed, how to repair, how to bloom.

You are curious about your embodiment and your creative life.

You are intimate with your body’s messages, but you want some new angles and insights.

You feel tension between pleasure and the world’s suffering.

You want to find time to get into your body, but everything else feels urgent and dire.

You love to write; or you don’t write at all.

The live sessions meet on

Saturday October 25th: 11am-12:30pm EST/ 10am-11:30am CST

Sunday October 26th: 5pm-7pm EST/ 4pm -6pm CST
