INNER SPACE: Embodied Anatomy of the Interstitium
A GROW/L Embodied Anatomy Session
Interstitium: from the latin inter: “between” and sisto: place.
Interstitium: The between place.
The interstitium is the between place between tissue and blood vessel. It’s small enough that until 2018, it was thought to be a sort of “wall” of collagen. But then researchers were able to use advanced imaging systems that saw it for what it is:
A vast, body-wide network of fluid-filled spaces.
The amount of fluid in the interstitium is roughly 20% of your body’s weight. So, while the interstitium might be microscopic, it is massive in its entirety.
And something profound happens when we give our attention to it.
In INNER SPACE: Embodied Anatomy of the Interstitium, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the anatomy and physiology of this vast body-wide system.
You’ll also experience what becomes possible when you actually feel it.
This session is part of an expanding Embodied Anatomy Series. Other sessions include BREATH MAGIC: Embodied Anatomy of the Lungs, LIVING EARTH: Embodied Anatomy of the Pelvis, and HELD: Embodied Anatomy of the Skin.
These sessions are meant to inform you about the awe-inspiring wonder of your own anatomy and physiology. Each session includes detailed information about the anatomy, followed by a guided somatic practice.
In the live session, there is an unrecorded time available for questions. It’s good to be off the record sometimes, and these unrecorded conversations are always rich and beautiful.
The recorded session will go to everyone who registers, and will then join the Embodied Anatomy Series Library.
Once you register, you’ll be sent a zoom link for the live session. I will also send out multiple reminder emails as the date gets closer.
Registration is open to anyone, regardless of somatic or movement experience. I have heard from true beginners to medical doctors and everything in between that these sessions are full of incredible new discoveries about the body.
Members of Anchor Community and paid subscribers to my Substack are able to attend these Embodied Anatomy Sessions at no additional cost.
Please help me continue to be able to offer these low-cost, high value sessions by refraining from sharing the zoom link.
I hope you can join us:
